TELEPHONY SECTIONS

VOICE SWITCHING BASICS

The telephone network is changing drastically with the deregulation and the resulting fierce competition.  New Operators provide now telephone services: local and long distance. They deploy their own telephony infrastructures.

This course is an initiation to voice switching and telephone network operation in the new competitive deregulated telephony environment

ISDN SERVICES AND NETWORK

The integrated services digital network (ISDN) is actually used by Companies for their business voice communications. Households to get a second phone line or to access the Internet are using it also.

ISDN brings much better performances in terms of quality and rate of transmission that the traditional switched telephone network.  It supports higher speed data transmission (Fax, file transfer, Internet access).  Moreover it brings new telephone services with enriched functionalities for call management.
